一、幼儿英语教育的必要性和可行性

神经生理学的研究表明，从两岁开始至青春期，即出生后的10～12年，人的大脑中主管言语的区域处于不断的发展变化中，其言语中枢尚未定位，大脑的左右两半球都可以参与语言学习。但随着年龄的增长，儿童言语习得的能力逐渐下降。一些研究成果表明:语言学习宜早不宜晚，12岁以前是人类语言发展的重要时期，儿童对语音在学龄前期最为敏感，其次是对语法的掌握。幼儿时期是儿童习得语言的最佳时期。

美国著名语言学家Chomsky早在50多年前就提出，人有先天的掌握语言规则的能力，其体现机制就是先天的语言获得装置(LAD)。Chomsky认为，LAD中潜存着一整套普遍的语言规则，这些规则通过一定的逻辑顺序，就能构成一系列可供选择的转换语法。由此我们是不是可以这样推断，如果我们同时对幼儿进行两种语言的教学，即对幼儿的LAD装置进行两种语言的输入，LAD会同时将备用的转换语法与输入的结构进行比较和匹配，不断调整直到吻合，也就是说，幼儿的先天语言获得机制会自动进行两种语言之间的语码转换，不会对幼儿的心理发展产生负担。现有大量研究表明，两种语言都很流利的儿童在分析推理、概念形成以及认知灵活性方面的测试中都比只会一种语言的同龄人做得好，他们的元语言技巧得到了特别好的发展，他们更意识到了词语只是随意的符号，也更了解了语言结构和细节，更擅长于注意到在口头的和书面的作文中语法和意思的错误——这些能力增强了他们的阅读成绩。

也有研究者担心，同时学习母语和外语会使幼儿产生混乱，减缓语言学习速度，甚至无法区分两种语言，影响幼儿的社会性发展。一个相关的研究发现，两种语言家庭的孩子获得两种语言的速度要比他们只学习一种语言的同伴慢得多，然而这种落后随着年龄的增长就消失了，他们在两种语言上的精通最终会使他们达到自如地运用任何一种语言。有关儿童语言理解力的研究十分清晰地表明，儿童可以区分不同语言发出的声音和音素。因此，理解混乱或者不准确并不是一个问题。也就是说，幼儿可以用一种语言中的一个词替换另一种语言中的相同意义的词，即反映了延伸原则。同时学习两种语言，不会给儿童带来语言发展障碍，反而会促进儿童语言和思维的发展。

二、家庭英语教育的原则

1.在自然真实的语境中潜移默化

语言只是人类交际和认识世界的工具。全语言理论强调，儿童的语言学习是自然而然的。在家庭中，家长没必要让幼儿进行有意记忆，要在日常生活中对幼儿实施自然的影响。家长在教幼儿说话时，应注意创造真实的场景，如教幼儿认识“apple”一词，就应该将真实的苹果或者苹果图片摆在幼儿面前，给幼儿以直观的印象，在幼儿潜意识里也会认为这个词是有意义的，值得记忆。

多数家长在教幼儿学习第二语言时，都表现出了急功近利的色彩，一味要求幼儿记忆单词，忽视语言的运用性。在家庭英语的教育中，应着重在语言的意义运用上，强调幼儿对第二语言的理解，可以先不要求幼儿会说。比如，家长可以用英语问幼儿一些简单的问题，让幼儿用中文回答即可，一段时间以后，再引导幼儿用两种语言表达。

2.遵循母语学习模式

幼儿是通过联想原则经过选择性强化而获得母语的。在这个过程中，词语作为信号，和它所代表的具体事物之间建立的联系，以及语言本身各种成分之间建立的联系，最终形成了幼儿头脑中稳定的语言体系。在英语学习中，家长应鼓励幼儿多看、多读、多说，给幼儿全方位的英语刺激。在学习中，应特别注意学习时间和学习量的积累，不可三天打鱼两天晒网，随意中断幼儿的学习，保证幼儿学习的连续性。

3.重视“读写准备”

“读写准备”运用到幼儿身上，就是父母把幼儿最喜欢的故事反复读给他们听，幼儿会在短时间内能够在图片的帮助下根据他们的理解来讲述这故事。在这个过程中孩子们开始将一些特定的声音同特定的书面文字联系在一起，阅读便开始了。在英语的学习中，如果加强读写准备，将很有效地促进幼儿对英语的认知，儿童会轻松地将语音和单词以及词义联系，并了解在什么情境中使用，这比机械地记忆单词好得多。

4.维持幼儿学习兴趣

研究发现，有效的语言学习不是“正确的”或者是“标准的”，而是连接个人生活经验和社会的学习。对幼儿来说，只有当他们的外语学习是有用的，即能够用外语来沟通时，这种学习才能对他们产生意义。

大量的研究表明，儿童对学习失去兴趣的一个很重要原因是，在日常学习和生活中需要完成大量的毫无意义的练习，而进行英语教育的儿童忍受更多，比如重复听写单词，而该单词却并不会在幼儿日常生活中使用。无意义的教学本身没有内在的、本质的意义或目的，不能解决真实情境下的问题，把它们提供给儿童的目的只是为了能够使他们对某种技能进行练习。

如果说幼儿在幼儿园或者学校中已经忍受了大量的无意义联系以至于快要磨光他们对学习的兴趣，那么在家庭中，家长需要做的就是帮助幼儿维持对学习的兴趣。家长应把学习英语的新鲜的刺激、有趣的故事、丰富的见识、愉快的感受等传递给幼儿，不要让幼儿觉得学英语是一件痛苦的事情。

5.进行家庭学习，注重幼儿与家长的交流互动

“家庭学习”一词所传递的是一种思想，一种理念。它是指各种类型的家庭在一切可能环境下进行的各种形式的学习。当孩子和他们的父母一同学习时，学习效率会大大提高。在幼儿家庭英语教育中，家长不仅要扮演教育者的角色，还应该扮演学习者的角色，和幼儿共同学习共同探讨。并且，经常进行家庭学习还能有利于家长与幼儿之间的亲子交流，建立良好的情感，对幼儿的人格发展有一定好处。
